Nurses’ contingent created to provide support in Ciego de Avila

The decision of the nurses of the municipality of Majagua to contribute with their knowledge wherever it is needed, was made clear in the act of creation of the Lidia Montero Matienzo contingent, held in the area of the obelisk to the heroic guerrilla.

In the activity, presided over by the member of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first secretary here, Misleydi Abad Modey, and the vice-president of the governing body Yamilet Farías Hidalgo, the first group that will leave shortly for the provincial capital was presented with awards.

Dr. Juan Carlos Lazo Bernabé, acting municipal director of health, emphasized that the objective of forming this contingent, which bears the name of a consecrated nurse in this territory, who died this year, responds to the call to help make up for the lack of personnel that the health institution is currently experiencing.

It was also learned that the aforementioned structure is organized in several groups, which will allow each one of them to remain in the fulfillment of the assigned task for 15 days until the total number is completed.

Mr. Yamisel Ramos Sotolongo and Mr. Rolando Guardarramas Puentes, both with completed international missions, expressed their satisfaction for having been assigned a new task, which they will carry out with the same responsibility as they did in other parts of the world.
