Ariel Villalobos Olivera, PhD in Agricultural Sciences, was appointed first vice-rector of the University of Ciego de Avila Máximo Gómez Báez, a centre accredited with the category of Excellence.

Professor Villalobos Olivera has a great strategic vision that will contribute to institutional growth and has a relevant academic career with valuable contributions to Plant Biotechnology.

Upon making the appointment, Yurisbel Gallardo Ballat, rector of the University of Ciego de Avila, assured that the outstanding professional, who has experience as a leader of development projects, will be key to strengthening academic programmes and links with society.

With the commitment to promote educational excellence and innovation, the Doctor in Agricultural Sciences Ariel Villalobos Olivera, assumes the position of first vice-rector of the University of Ciego de Avila Máximo Gómez Báez.
