Every 15 September, Neonatal Nursing Day is celebrated and as part of the activities organised in the province to recognise the date, a round table discussion was organised with the participation of neonatal professionals.

In the student residence of the University of Medical Sciences of Ciego de Avila, as the venue for the meeting, the experiences of Neonatal Nursing in Avileña were recounted in a fruitful exchange.

Professionals in this branch from the hospitals Doctor Antonio Luaces Iraola, in the capital of Avila, and Roberto Rodríguez, in Morón, presented their daily practices, satisfactions and projections of work in this speciality, which is considered a first-world medical service.

Neonatology is a branch of medicine derived from paediatrics, which treats premature newborns with medical problems.
