For years, Natalia Bolivar researched as an anthropologist and ethnologist the traditions and beliefs of African roots in Cuba, leaving an extensive scientific and cultural work embodied in the books Los Orishas en Cuba, Mitos y leyendas de la comida Afrocubana and other works of obligatory consultation.
Numerous messages of condolences lament the death of Natalia Bolivar, among them from the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry.
In its social network account X, the institution expressed: «From Icaic we regret the death of Cuban researcher and essayist Natalía Bolívar, let the documentary that bears her name, made by Ernesto Daranas in 2019, serve as a tribute from the Cuban cinema».
The Palomas Project also expressed its condolences on social networks for the death of the writer, painter, anthropologist, and ethnologist.
