The Avilanian municipality of Morón, with the production of electrical energy from renewable sources, responds to the strategy outlined at the national level which seeks to increase, fundamentally, photovoltaic generation to meet demand in the face of the fossil fuel deficit.

In line with this objective, a solar park operates in the territory, with a capacity of four megawatts, and is the result of a donation from the People’s Republic of China, forming part of the country’s strategy for changing the energy matrix.

Currently, another is being executed, now in its final phase, in the Nereida area, on the outskirts of the city of Morón, which will have a capacity of 21.87 megawatts.

It is the country’s strategy to reach the figure of 2000 megawatts/hour of photovoltaic generation by the end of 2025, a situation that would grant greater stability to the National Electrical System (SEN) and aid national production and the economy.
