Ciego de Ávila and Santiago de Cuba will discuss this Friday the title in the National Men’s Softball Championship, which has been successfully developed since last 15th in the avilanian territory.
Meanwhile, the teams from Holguín and Villa Clara will go for the bronze medal.
This Thursday, in the closing of the qualifying stage, the current champions defeated the team from Villa Clara 7-0 and finished with 13 wins and only one loss.
The stellar pitcher Alain Román threw a couple of inning, in which he struck out 5 of the six batters he faced, to reach 67 runs in the tournament. He also lowered his effectiveness to 0.78, only 3 clean runs allowed in 27 innings of work. In this encounter, Eduardo González Campo got the win and reached 7, leader in this department.
Villa Clara did not field its third bat and starter Osvaldo Pérez, who is recovering from a leg discomfort. Even so, the member of the last Cuba team to the Pan American Games in Parana, will help those from the center of the country in the match for third place.

Finally, at the Jose R. Cepero stadium, Holguín defeated Havana 9-0 and thus the capital team will have to play the second division to be held in Pinar del Rio next October.
After these three results the locals finished as leaders with (13-1), Santiago (10-5), Holguín (8-7), Villa Clara (6-9), Granma (4-10) and Havana (3-12).
