When the Máximo Gómez Báez University in Ciego de Ávila holds the XVI International Scientific Convention UNICA 2024, it will have climbed one more step in its research and scientific identity in favour of social progress.

The event includes scientists, entrepreneurs, specialists and researchers from all countries, dedicated to achieving and preserving sustainable development.

The XVI International Scientific Convention of UNICA will be held from 14 to 18 October next, in hybrid mode (face-to-face and virtual), with coverage on digital channels.

Under the slogan «Inclusive, relevant and quality education committed to sustainable development», the event will focus the debates on the main problems and challenges of Higher Education at the present time worldwide, regionally and specifically for Cuba.

A total of 10 symposia are included in the event’s calendar to discuss various topics such as climate change, agricultural engineering, economic sciences, food sovereignty and social sciences, among others.

In addition, it is proposed to hold a Business and Enterprise Forum on Tuesday 15 October, which will feature Cuban and foreign commercial exhibitors.

Rectors from various universities will hold a meeting on Wednesday 16 October to exchange experiences of their work in the training of high-level academic professionals.

The XVI International Scientific Convention UNICA 2024 will promote the work to achieve and preserve sustainable development, so necessary in today’s world.
