Havana International Book Fair 2024 reschedules dates

The Havana International Book Fair, scheduled from February 8 to 18, has changed its calendar and is being organized to take place one week later than the initial date at the request of Brazil as a guest of honor.

According to the Cubadebate website, the Ministry of Culture of the South American giant requested the 32nd edition of the most important literary event held on the island to be held from February 15 to 25 because it coincides with the Brazilian Carnival calendar.

Several of the artists and officials who will attend the Cuban publishing event are linked to this important Brazilian festivity, which is why the Guest of Honor country made the request.

This change postpones the provincial fairs for a week later, culminating on Sunday, March 24, in the eastern territory of Santiago de Cuba.

With the premise of Cuba’s National Hero José Martí «To read is to grow», the Havana International Book Fair will bring together the most representative books in the Caribbean nation’s publishing area at its usual venue in the San Carlos de La Cabaña Historic Military Park, in dialogue with authors, publishers, and booksellers, who will once again come from different parts of the world.
