The first international colloquium «Fidel: Legacy and Future» will take place from today until Wednesday at the Havana Convention Palace, with more than a thousand personalities, friends of solidarity and academics from around the world having confirmed attendance.
After this morning’s inaugural session, the halls of the iconic convention centre will host panels, conferences and debates on the immense stature of Fidel Castro, architect of the revolutionary work in Cuba.
The keynote lecture «Fidel and Martí in the battle of ideas for the practice of Gramscian revolutionary rupture: the decolonisation of minds in the hegemonic historical bloc,» by Doctor of Sciences Luciano Vasapollo from Italy, will open the theoretical gathering.
This Monday, attendees will address in their interventions Fidel’s ethics, values and human formation, Martí’s influence on his thought, his revolutionary ideas that emerged at the University, and will journey through passages of his life as a young rebel.
According to the circulated programme, these sessions will reaffirm the legacy of the Commander-in-Chief, his strategy and leadership.
