As part of the activities for the International Day of the Microbiologist, the Fifth Provincial Conference and the First Territorial Workshop on Microbiology and Parasitology was held in the municipality of Morón in the province of Avila.
Among the papers presented were Genesis, a Health, by Dr. Ubaldo Del Risco Barrios, and Microbiological characteristics in the services of Angiology and Vascular Surgery, defended by Dr.C Jorge Luis Carrera Martínez.
Dr. Oxana Cabrera Espinosa, head of the Provincial Microbiology Group, addressed the subject of the Protocol for action in the face of oropouche fever.
The organising committee of the event was formed by Dr. Niurys Martín Pérez and Dr. Oxana Cabrera Espinosa, as well as Dr. Yoenkis Tapia Valido and Dr. Alberto Moronta Enrique.
It was also attended by specialists in Microbiology, Family Medicine and Angiology, as well as graduates in Microbiology from the province.
«I would like to highlight the importance of the event to socialise the results of research in the field of Microbiology and that this day serves to recognise this speciality, which often, from anonymity, contributes to the diagnosis of diseases and therefore to the state of health of the population,» said Doctor Yoenkis Tapia Valido, director of the General Docente Roberto Rodríguez Provincial General Hospital in Morón.
