The President of the National Assembly of People’s Power and of the Council of State, Esteban Lazio Hernández, is touring centres of economic and social interest in the province of Ciego de Avila, as part of a working visit to the territory.
Accompanied by Ana María Mari Machado, Vice President of the National Assembly of People’s Power and the highest authorities of the territory, the day began at the Jardines del Rey international airport, located in Cayo Coco.
The inspection is part of the compliance with agreement X_140 of 2025, derived from the accountability report of the Provincial Government of People’s Power, as part of the control exercise being carried out nationally until the month of December.
As the first point of his agenda, the president held a fraternal exchange with airport workers and directors of the tourism sector. During the meeting, he inquired about essential details of the air terminal’s operation, the care of workers and the integration of tourism with the various productive sectors of Ciego de Ávila, given the significant potential of the region.
Similarly, he inquired about the preparations for the next high tourist season and the implementation of strategies aimed at consolidating this stage as a crucial period for the territorial and national economy, based on income from the influx of foreign visitors to the Cayos Coco and Guillermo.
The journey continued through areas of the La Cuba Agricultural Enterprise, where he exchanged with managers and workers about the progress and recovery of the productions of said entity. Subsequently, Lazio Hernández exchanged with the population at the entity’s market, recently inaugurated in the provincial capital.
