The Avilanian publishing house Ediciones Ávila is immersed in final preparations to participate in the 34th Havana International Book Fair (FILH), which will be held from 12 to 22 February at the Morro-Cabaña fortress.
«The provincial delegation plans to take approximately 48 titles, which will include successful reprints and four new literary proposals,» informed Natacha Cabrera Cepero, director of the Centre for Literary Promotion and Ediciones Ávila.
«Among the novelties the publishing house will present, the novel Madre de cal, by Yasmani Rodríguez Alfaro; the essays Entre el amor y el tabú, by Leidy Vidal García, and Más sobre La Edad de Oro, by Félix Flores Varona; as well as the children’s anthology Cuentos del espejo, with works by several authors, stand out.
«These official presentations will take place on 20 February at 2:00 pm at the fair’s own venue,» expressed Cabrera Cepero, who admitted they still face logistical and budgetary challenges, but assured they have the necessary inputs to guarantee the printing quality of multiple covers and of some copies, which will be produced at the Enrique Núñez Printing Enterprise in Villa Clara.
