Doctors Alemy Paret Rodríguez, a pediatrician, and Arnaldo Yadró Jiménez, a psychiatrist, both from Ciego de Ávila, are already in Turkey to assist victims of the earthquake that part of that nation suffered.
Both doctors are part of the advance guard of the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics and traveled with the first brigade that arrived in the affected nation.
Alemy Paret works in the Pediatrics service of the Roberto Rodríguez Provincial General Teaching Hospital, in Morón, and Arnaldo Yadró works in the Nguyen Van Troi Psychiatric Hospital, in the Ciego de Ávila capital.
Cuba, in its proverbial solidarity with countries suffering from natural disasters and epidemics, immediately offered medical aid to care for injured survivors of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which shook parts of Turkey and Syria.
