Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, secretary general of the Cuban Workers’ Central, insisted that the plan for the economy in workplaces should concentrate on finding solutions to the problems facing the country, both material and financial.
He said that the month of February is a decisive stage for the assemblies with Cuban affiliates, workers and representatives in view of the presentation and discussion of the economic programme and budget for the current year.
Guilarte de Nacimiento pointed out that existing resources, the effects of the US blockade and the international economic situation must be taken into account.
The Politburo member referred to the importance of the collectives that have the possibility of over-fulfilling the production and service plan in terms of assortments, values and export sales.
The aim is to achieve in-depth debates and proposals from the workers’ protagonists to increase efficiency, productivity and the supply of goods and services, as a contribution to boost Cuba’s economy in 2025.
