We stand in solidarity, without a single doubt, with the brotherly Venezuelan people and with our comrade, Nicolás Maduro, said today Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic.
During his speech at the 11th Extraordinary Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), he assured that the largest of the Antilles recognises, respects and admires the Bolivarian and Chavista civic-military unity of the Venezuelan people, and trusts that with that strength, the homeland of Bolivar, Chávez and Maduro, will continue to demonstrate that it is proof against all threats and harassment.
With absolute irresponsibility, the return of destabilisation plans in Venezuela is being concertedly encouraged, and we cannot allow it, he added.
In his words, broadcast live, he pointed out that these are times of unity and firmness in the face of imperialism and the oligarchies that take advantage of the slightest opportunity to attack the triumph and stability of every popularly oriented force.
Díaz-Canel stressed that in Venezuela the conflict between two clearly conflicting visions of the world is being settled.
On one side, our side, we are defending the future and social justice for the benefit of all; on the other, the interest in preserving the system of injustice and hegemony prevails, he said.
The head of state denounced the continuity of imperialist harassment, external interference, the onslaught of the oligarchies, and media and political manipulation to generate destabilisation and foment a coup in an attempt to overthrow the Bolivarian and Chavista government.
It is up to everyone to act with honesty and justice, in accordance with the principles of international law and the most elementary rules of coexistence, it is up to Venezuelans to settle and clarify what concerns them, he said.
Díaz-Canel reiterated the strongest condemnation of the systematic aggression against Venezuela and repudiated any attempt to foment violence and to cloud the peace demanded and needed by its people.
