Díaz-Canel on the second day of parliamentary debates in Cuba

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel participates today in the second day of debates of the fourth ordinary session of the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament).

Gathered in the capital’s Palacio de las Convenciones, the deputies are analysing the progress made in the implementation of the policy of comprehensive care for children, adolescents and young people, approved a year ago.

The parliamentary agenda includes the presentation by the government of the province of Artemisa of a report on the recovery of the territory after the passage of Hurricane Rafael, which caused considerable damage to infrastructure and crops.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Vicente de la O Levi, will inform MPs about the country’s energy strategy and the results of the exercise of the highest audit of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources will be presented.

The fourth ordinary session of Parliament will be in session until tomorrow with a focus on key issues for the Caribbean nation, which is going through a complex economic situation.
