Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of the Republic, has begun an official tour of key sites in Ciego de Ávila province, host of this year’s national July 26th celebrations.

The presidential delegation, accompanied by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz and Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organisation of the Communist Party Central Committee, along with provincial Party and government leaders, commenced their itinerary in Baraguá municipality.

According to the local newspaper Invasor, the delegation visited the Paquito González Agricultural Production Cooperative in El Batey, where over 40 hectares of FHIA-01 banana cultivars are under cultivation. The President demonstrated particular interest in productivity levels and the application of scientific agricultural techniques, specifically recommending continued work with tissue-cultured plantlets to enhance yields.
