Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of the Republic, is attending a solidarity meeting today in Ciego de Ávila with members of international brigades and work contingents from various nations. The event has brought together 370 solidarity activists representing 23 countries, organised through eight solidarity projects from Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Europe, and the United States.

Accompanying the Cuban leader are several high-ranking officials: Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party Central Committee; Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Emilio Ratmir Lozada García, Head of the Party Central Committee’s International Relations Department; Fernando González Llort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP); and Julio Gómez Casanova, First Secretary of the Party in Ciego de Ávila province.
