The restoration and conservation of coastal ecosystems, the integral recovery of beaches, mangroves, coral reefs and other natural environments constitute actions of the State Plan Tarea Vida, implemented in the municipality of Morón, with emphasis on the tourist destination Jardines del Rey, in the north of the territory.
It also recognises the need to raise awareness among the population about the importance of caring for these ecosystems, encouraging community participation and the promotion of sustainable practices for their conservation.
This is why the initiative dedicated to cleaning up the beaches is vital, with the participation of specialists from the Coastal Ecosystems Research Centre, CIEC, and members of other departments of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, CITMA.
These actions are in line with the common interest of facing the problems generated by climate change in our country, given its status as a small island developing state.
