The city of Morón experienced an atypical day this Friday, with detonations in its southern area, as part of a territorial defence exercise that tested the response capacity of the production and defence brigade of Zone 290204 in the face of a simulated attack by enemy forces.
The exercise, developed within the framework of the commemorative activities for National Defence Day, had as its main objective to evaluate the preparedness of the leadership structures and guarantee the protection of the population in exceptional situations.

During the tour, the President of the Provincial Defence Council, Julio Heriberto Gómez Casanova, supervised the functioning of vital services, highlighted the strategies for water supply through systems with solar panels and the alternatives for feeding the inhabitants.
During the analysis of the day, Gómez Casanova insisted on the need to continue perfecting the organisation and response capacity of all the factors involved.
For his part, Alberto Echemendia Manzanares, President of the Defence Council in that Avilanian municipality, stressed that the results obtained demonstrate the discipline and cohesion of the combat groups, on a date that coincides with the anniversary of the constitutional reform that declared socialism irrevocable in Cuba.

The day also served to pay tribute to the legacy of Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, an example of firmness and commitment to the Revolution that inspires new generations.
Authorities emphasised that systematic preparation and the work of each collective are the basis of these results, and reaffirmed that the unity of the people and the active participation of communities constitute guarantees for preserving peace and national sovereignty.

The day concluded with a call to maintain permanent preparedness and to support the leadership of President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, reiterating the maxim that «in preparation for defence, rivers of sweat must be shed to avoid shedding a single drop of blood.»
