Miguel Díaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, began yeserday a series of meetings with the highest authorities of all the provinces, starting this Thursday in Ciego de Ávila.
Accompanying the president were Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz and Roberto Morales Ojeda, secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Presidency reported on Twitter.
The discussion focused on the tasks that in the economic, social and political order have been outlined by the provinces to make the leap that is needed in this year 2023, a tweet added.
The meeting evaluated the actions that have been designed to face the economic and social situation that the Cuban territory is currently going through.
It transcended in the account of the Presidency that in the exchange they discussed about the delivery of land with more agility to producers, also to more than 30 agencies of the territory. Likewise, about the responsibility of the companies with the municipalities and the need for greater productive responses based on the potentialities of the province.
«We have a great challenge and commitment with our people, in improving welfare and quality of life, and progressively eliminate everything that prevents it (inflation, shortages, quality of services, currency devaluation, corruption, illegalities)», Morales Ojeda pointed out.
Prime Minister Manuel Marrero said that «we live in different times and we need to do different things. We cannot go into 2023 doing more of the same. We have to set concrete goals, set indicators. And the center of everything here is the municipality».
Cuban President heads analysis in Sancti Spíritus to evaluate the province’s potentials
Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, also participated in a meeting with the main leaders of Sancti Spíritus to analyze the province’s potentialities to achieve a better year from the economic and social point of view.
The meeting discussed the tasks that Sancti Spíritus is undertaking in strategic sectors such as food production, sugar agro-industry, tourism, and construction materials, as reported by the Presidency’s Twitter account.

Díaz-Canel called for studying the problems and analyzing their contradictions, and recommended listening to experts and the people.
We have to assume an anti-capitalist approach to every problem, that the logic of socialist emancipation always prevails, he stressed.
The head of state insisted on the need to shake inertia, to banish bureaucratism and complacency; he pointed out that there must be greater popular involvement in everything that is done, and not to give space to solutions that are not functional.
