The president of Inder, Osvaldo Vento Montiller, intervened today in the meeting of high sports authorities and distinguished guests, organized in the prelude to the First Future Games.
Ministers, diplomats and guests of honor gathered at the Kazan University of Sports and Tourism, a remarkable infrastructure created to host the 2013 World Universiade.
Oleg Matytsin, Russia’s Minister of Sport and host of the meeting, greeted representatives from some 20 countries, praised the timeliness of the Games for their innovative and youth-bringing character, and wished success to all participants.
Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and one of the top officials in charge of the Games, was especially present.
Vento Montiller was among the speakers at the meeting. In his words, he stated that it is a great honor for Cuba to participate in the First Future Games and in this meeting of high authorities in the field of sports.
We are grateful for Russia’s support for making Cuba’s presence possible, which ratifies the solid relations of friendship and cooperation between our nations, he said.
We reaffirm our willingness to create a working group on sports within the framework of the Cuba-Russia Intergovernmental Commission for Commercial, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. We consider it important to promote the exchange of experiences between specialists from both countries, as well as to have Russian athletes travel to events on the island and Cuban athletes travel to Russia, added the Cuban official.
We ratify our support for the upcoming Brics and Friendship Games, in which we will participate with top-level figures. And we take advantage of this framework to request new support to continue inserting our athletes in digital events, said Vento.
The meeting provided details of the Brics Games in Kazan 2024, in June, which Cuba intends to attend as a step towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
