Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today reiterated his support for the sovereignty of Venezuela, following the certification by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) of the victory of Nicolás Maduro in the presidential elections in that country.
The Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of #Venezuela has already certified the victory of @NicolasMaduro in the 28J elections and ordered the publication of the results to the CNE. The day before, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez expressed himself in similar terms, calling for respect for the decisions of Venezuelan institutions and calling for an end to interference in the South American nation.
The Venezuelan Supreme Court of Justice on Thursday certified the victory of President Nicolás Maduro after a formal review of the results of the presidential elections of 28 July.
The ruling confirmed that «in an unrestricted and unequivocal manner (…) the bulletins issued by the National Electoral Council are backed by the tally sheets issued by each of the machines».
According to the president of the Supreme Court, Caryslia Rodríguez, in the context of these elections Venezuela suffered an attempted coup d’état accompanied by a large-scale cyber-attack.
