Cuba reiterates call to stop genocide in Palestine

Cuba reiterates the call for an immediate ceasefire and to stop the genocide in Palestine, said today on X Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In his account on that social network, Rodríguez Parrilla condemned the recent bombings perpetrated by the Israeli army against the Nuseirat and Al-Maghazi refugee camps.

The dozens of Palestinians who were killed and wounded in those attacks are evidence of the crimes that Israel commits daily in Gaza, the Cuban Foreign Minister said.

More than 21,500 dead and around 60,000 wounded have been counted since the beginning of the Israeli siege against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, last October 7, according to data provided by the Ministry of Health of the Gaza Strip.

Cuba’s National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament) approved last week a declaration in support of the cause of the Palestinian people and condemning the crimes of the Israeli regime.

During the Second Ordinary Period of Sessions of the Parliament, in its 10th Legislature, the deputies ratified the text that expresses indignation at the genocide against the people of Palestine, and condemns the murder of thousands of people in Gaza, 70 percent of them children and women, as a result of the indiscriminate bombings since October 7.

They considered that the current situation is a consequence of 75 years of Israeli practices of illegal occupation and colonization and made an urgent call for an immediate ceasefire and the start of negotiations between the parties.

They also stressed the need for a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the conflict, based on the creation of two States, which would allow the Palestinian people the right to self-determination and to have an independent and sovereign State, based on the pre-1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital.
