Cuba and India Strengthen Cooperation in Digital Transformation

Cuba and India are consolidating ties in digital transformation following an official meeting between representatives of Cuba’s Ministry of Justice (Minjus) and executives of India’s DigiLocker platform.

Minjus highlighted on Facebook that the meeting focuses on exchanging experiences regarding secure document storage and public service modernisation; participating are an official Indian delegation comprising government officials and representatives of the aforementioned technological platform, alongside officials from the Cuban ministry.

In the meeting, chaired by Pilar Alicia Varona Estrada, Deputy Justice Minister, and Yashna Díaz Carrobouy, alongside executives of Cuban company Xetid and Minjus specialists, Prasoon Kumar, General Business Director of DigiLocker, presented the workings of this free digital tool. It enables Indian citizens to securely store, share and authenticate official documents with legal validity.

A central topic was the impact of digital wallets in India, which have transformed access to public and private services by eliminating bureaucratic procedures and promoting a «paperless» philosophy.
