The Road Safety Commission in Ciego de Avila called for strict control of traffic on roads and highways at the beginning of the summer season, in order to reduce the risk of accidents.

Sonia Hernández Talavera, executive secretary of this entity, added that a group of measures was implemented to reduce the danger of traffic accidents, especially in July and August.

In this regard, she said that a thorough check is being carried out to ensure that drivers’ operating licences and other compulsory documents are up to date.

Hernández Talavera pointed out that in each municipality of Avila they inspect the vehicles that travel to the different recreational areas of this province, an action that guarantees safety in transportation.
