The Committees for the Defence of the Revolution (CDR) will award the Barrio Prize to the Augusto César Sandino educational institution in the capital of Avila, and to the cultural project «La Yaya», in the town of Baraguá, the only ones to receive this award in Ciego de Ávila.
Alexis Cazañas Valdés, coordinator of the CDRs in this province, stated that this recognition is endorsed, among other parameters, by the excellent results in integrated community work, creativity and the implementation of activities that favour the development of children and young people.
The laureates will receive this stimulus in public acts that will take place during the celebrations for the 28th of September, in the cederista zone where they are located, with the presence of authorities of the Party, the Government, Education, Culture and other guests.
The Barrio Award is conferred annually throughout Cuba to those who stand out for their community work and social contribution, on the occasion of the activities for the anniversary of the Committees for the Defence of the Revolution.
