In the Avilanian municipality of Chambas, health specialists report the distribution of the nutritional supplement Chispitas para Crecer to children from three to 11 months of age.
In the Family Doctor’s offices in the communities of Punta Alegre, Máximo Gómez and Los Perros, and the town of Chambas, nurses and doctors apply the vitamin supplement with the aim of preventing anaemia in infants.
The micronutrient Chispitas para Crecer comes in one-gram packets and contains the following proportions: 400 micrograms of vitamin A, 90 of folic acid, 10 milligrams of iron and 30 of vitamin C.
This medical action is being extended to the entire territory of Avila and will soon be extended to children between 12 and 23 months of age.
