With 14 blood donations, the day «Arms outstretched to save lives» began this Saturday in the Centro health area of Ciego de Ávila, convened by the factors of the Roberto Rivas Fraga popular council and the Antonio Maceo polyclinic.
The Family Medical and Nurse’s Office number 14, of Circumscription 47, was the scene where FMC and CDR members went, voluntarily, to make this altruistic contribution.
Julio Cesar Moreno Quintero, delegate of that demarcation, told Radio Surco that the call had an excellent response. «We have managed to incorporate young people into this important movement,» he said.
The popular leader highlighted the material and logistical support of workers and managers of the Provincial Company of the Food Industry, entity that sponsors that popular council located in the avilanian south.
The moment was propitious to recognize, among others, Marcos Moreno, Amaury Justa and Hensy Rosales, voluntary blood donors who attended the call.
Referring to his reasons for making this contribution, Marcos Moreno pointed out that he is proud to help with his blood to recover a sick person and save a life. «On this occasion we have decided to dedicate the humane and supportive gesture to the 62nd anniversary of the victory at Playa Girón,» he said.
