Baseball: Cuba falls 11-15 to Panama and says goodbye to the U23 World Cup

The Cuban under-23 baseball team lost this Wednesday 11-15 to Panama in the Pan American tournament held at the Masaya stadium in Nicaragua.

With this failure, the team coached by Santiago’s mentor Eddy Cajigal said goodbye to the World Championship of that category to be held next year in China.

For the Panamanians, who hit 13 hits, the designated hitter Erasmo Caballero, who went 4-3 with a home run and five RBIs, stood out, while the starter Julio González also went 4-3, hit a home run and towed four.

Meanwhile, for the Cuban team, there was a good offensive performance by catcher Andrys Pérez, who hit 4-2 with three runs batted in.

Jonathan Amaya won and reliever Osdany Rodríguez lost. Cuba closed the tournament with three wins and two losses.
