Avilanians reaffirm their commitment to the economic and social development of the country


On the eve of a May Day dedicated to the heroism of the Cuban people, the Avilanian affiliates of the Union of Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Workers reaffirm their commitment to continue consolidating the economic-social model of the country, said Anarvik Herrera Chaviano, general secretary of that guild in the province.

The leader added that the Project and Engineering Base Business Unit (EMPA), National Vanguard collective for 25 years, now receives the superior category with the Jesús Menéndez distinction, one of the highest decorations awarded by the Cubans Workers´ Central and approved by the Council of State.

The event has been characterized by the constant search for solutions and the maximum use of productive reserves, mainly food, for which several tasks were carried out that are part of the decisive effort program that is being developed in Ciego de Ávila.

The worker representative said that the avilanian affiliates to the National Union of Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Workers, make up the eleventh block of the parade for International Workers’ Day, which will be located on Máximo Gómez st, between Línea and Dos in the provincial capital.
