The specialised conference: «Human Rights, from multilateral mechanisms to the national reality. Advances and challenges» given by Master Lisandra Astlasarán Áreas, specialist of the Cuban Association of the United Nations, is among the activities being held at the Prosecutor’s Office in the province of Ciego de Ávila, on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the Young Communist League.

Among other aspects, the specialist discussed the Cuban legal system, its updating and its correspondence with international human rights treaties.

Edelso Pérez Fleita, Member of Parliament and President of the Union of Jurists of the province, and Yilian Fonseca Castellanos, Prosecutor, Head of the Department of Citizen Services in the Prosecutor’s Office, said that the lecture was a space for dialogue, learning, and commitment for the operators of the Law, in the defence of the achievements of the Cuban Revolution.

The students of the Law Department of the University of Ciego de Avila Máximo Gómez Báez, as well as the students of the technical department, who participated in the meeting, expressed their gratitude for the activity and ratified their commitment to work towards becoming better public servants.
