Journalist Lubia Ulloa Trujillo, correspondent of the Cuban News Agency (ACN) in the province of Ciego de Avila, died of a heart attack on Tuesday.
For more than 20 years she was part of this group, historically among the most outstanding of the Agency and of which she was a guide and example, and one of its most outstanding members.
Her strict adherence to the truth, her passionate defence of the Revolution and its work, her love for Fidel, and her tremendous hard work, even when she was going through a difficult family situation, distinguished Lubia’s time in journalism, a profession she embraced as a reorientation after graduating as a livestock engineer.
Her harsh criticism of wrongdoing, her disagreement with bureaucracy and inefficiency, combined with those values that earned her the respect and affection of colleagues and friends: simplicity, humility, sensitivity, solidarity and humanism.
She enjoyed helping everyone, even those she barely knew. For her family she was a tireless warrior as this was the primary reason for her life.
She overflowed with joy and spontaneity, showing off her »guajira» roots, those she defended so much from her homeland in Majagua.
The Agencia de Información Nacional (AIN) and now ACN, are proud of the work of this journalist from Avileña, who leaves for this media and for the whole of the press guild a beautiful legacy of respect for revolutionary journalism and love for the family.
To her family, friends and colleagues we offer our deepest condolences and the immense embrace of all her colleagues at the Cuban News Agency.
