A brigade of health workers from the province of Ciego de Avila is part of the Patricio Sierra Alta contingent that will soon be working in Guantanamo to help in its recovery after the damage caused by Hurricane Oscar in the easternmost part of the island.
The group is made up of three doctors specialised in Family Medicine, three graduates in Nursing, and two stomatologists, as well as four Red Cross volunteers, according to Dr. Nilka Pita Alemán, provincial director of Health in the Avila territory.
With the slogan «Guantánamo: Ciego de Ávila is with you», these health personnel will attend to the Guantánamo population in the municipalities most damaged by the floods and strong winds.
The Patricio Sierra Alta contingent is made up of 45 Avileños from sectors such as Commerce and Gastronomy, Accommodation, Culture, Sports and Health.
