The work of the members of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in Ciego de Avila does not cease. This is what Odelsys Valcárcel Pérez, Secretary General of the organisation in this central province, told this newspaper. Immersed in the donations of clothes, footwear, and personal hygiene products, they joined in the gestures of solidarity to improve the living conditions of the victims of the recent natural phenomena.
They also joined the «Ayuda» project in the fight against breast cancer last October, without neglecting the process of growth of the organisation and the work with the grassroots. According to Valcárcel Pérez: «Within our plan of activities and the Programme for the Advancement of Women, the need for us to become more involved in food production through the voluntary work in which we have participated has become clear» and so they continue to work in this direction.
