Due to his results on the mound, the Avilanian ballplayer Yunier Batista Ramírez was selected to join Team Cuba which will participate in the second Americas Baseball Series.
In the 65th National Baseball Series, the right-handed pitcher had a commendable performance, being disciplined, cool in the big moments and with a season that speaks for him without much fanfare.
This is not the first time Batista Ramírez has worn the shirt with the four letters; previously he did so in the Under-23 Pan American Championship, where he assumed the decisive game against Mexico, securing the final outs and earning the victory, sealing Cuba’s ticket to the Under-23 World Cup.
The Antillean selection for the second Americas Baseball Series, scheduled for 5 to 13 of the coming month in Caracas, capital of Venezuela, is comprised of two catchers, seven infielders, six outfielders and 13 pitchers.
