Following resolution of the turbine automatic line failure, workers at Matanzas’ Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Plant synchronised the facility with the National Power Grid at 11:48 today, Tuesday.

Chief Engineer Rubén Campos Olmos stated that despite inherent risks during each start-up procedure, core operating parameters indicate stability as the plant gradually increases output. Campos Olmos specified the operational strategy involves scaling up to 200 megawatts, maintaining that level for monitoring, then assessing water consumption metrics before potentially advancing to 220 MW for sustained operation.

The expertise of Guiteras specialists and technicians enabled rapid fault identification and resolution, with minor adjustments implemented to capitalise on residual boiler heat. This facilitated recommissioning amid the current tense generation deficit.
