Anie Serantes arrived at the provincial swimming academy Julio Antonio Mella in Ciego de Avila very young and full of illusions. Little by little she made her dreams come true, participating with results in several editions of the National School Games.

His performances opened the doors to the Cuban national team following his competitive actions and in 1997 in the Central American Aquatic Sports Tournament he won the gold medal in the backstroke event.

After a short time she had to give up the sport due to health problems. She is currently a coach at the centre where she started and was the most outstanding in the province of Avila in the basic category in 2023 and last year, her athletes gave outstanding performances in the National School Games, including the disabled, who won several medals, with Ciego de Avila being the most outstanding in the country in that category.

She is always ready to put all her talent and effort into achieving higher goals, with a great sense of duty and love for sport.
