Three Cubans in the All Stars of the Series of the Americas

Yunieski Larduet, Yordanis Alarcón and Andy Vargas excelled in their respective roles.

Three players from Leñadores de Las Tunas appear on the All-Star Team of the Baseball Series of the Americas 2025, which will conclude this Thursday in Nicaragua with the duel between the hosts and Panama’s Águilas Metropolitanas.

The team coached by Abeicy Pantoja came in fourth place in the competition, which was contested by six teams, with Yunieski Larduet, one of the three best outfielders, Yordanis Alarcón and Industriales’ backup Andy Vargas, who received the distinction of best pitcher, winning individual awards.

Larduet averaged 421 (19-9), while Alarcón hit for 466 (15-7). Andy allowed no runs in seven innings and finished as the leader in strikeout rate (0.00), won both of the Tuneros’ victories in the tournament and led in strikeouts (10).

First Base: Dario Borrero (Colombia)

Second Base: Brandon Leyton (Nicaragua)

Third base: Yordanis Alarcón (Las Tunas)

Torpedero: Austin Dennis (Panama)

Outfielders: Chase Dawson (Nicaragua), Yunieski Larduet (Las Tunas) and Ray-Patrick Didder (Curaçao)

Best Pitcher: Andy Vargas (Las Tunas)
