An aircraft dedicated to pest control spraying operations was involved in an accident in the northern cays of Ciego de Ávila, very close to the Hotel Colonial, with no injuries or damage to infrastructure reported so far.

According to reports on social media, which Cubadebate reported on in the morning hours, the incident occurred where the pilot managed to save his life; the aircraft experienced an engine failure, and the aviator was able to steer it towards shallow waters, where he performed an emergency landing as controlled as possible.

The aircraft belongs to the UEB of Aerial Services of the province of Sancti Spíritus.

Provincial authorities are investigating the causes of what occurred.
