For the outstanding contribution of their respective investigations, four professors from the Máximo Gómez Báez University, in Ciego de Ávila, received recognition from the Cuban Academy of Sciences.
The honorees are Raquel Diegues, Edianny Carballo, Elme Carballo Ramos and Oruam Cadex Marichal Guevara, all with the category of Doctors of Science.
The delivery of diplomas was carried out in the activity to celebrate the third anniversary of the creation of the Camagüey-Ciego de Ávila Branch, of the Cuban Academy of Sciences.
In the aforementioned meeting, the president of the college, PhD Yailé Caballero Mota, a prominent researcher at the University of Camagüey, gave the conference «Artificial Intelligence and its use in the socioeconomic development of Cuba».
The meeting of Avilanian and Camagüeyan scientists had the participation of directors and representatives of the delegations of CITMA, the Ministry of Communications, DESOFT, the Youth´s Computer Clubs, XETID, CIBA and the Máximo Gómez Báez University, from Ciego de Ávila.
