With the theme «Water for climate action» the World Water Week is taking place until the 28th next and since the past 24th.

Its objective is to analyse the problems of the precious liquid throughout the world and the reasons for its lack and scarcity in many regions.

The consequences of climate change threaten freshwater ecosystems, such as rivers, lakes, wetlands and underground aquifers.

In many countries work is being done for the protection of water resources and to avoid their contamination.

The quantity, quality and availability of freshwater sustains human life, health, wellbeing and is a human right.

Cuba is not immune to the problems of the scarcity of water resources, which so affects the population of all regions of the country.

The rational use of drinking water is essential to have this resource in homes, hence the call to citizens is to create awareness of saving and equitable distribution.
