José Ramón Monteagudo Ruiz, Member of the Secretariat and Head of the Agri-Food Department of the Communist Party Central Committee, held discussions with sector leaders in Ciego de Ávila.

The exchange addressed commitments for the observance of National Rebellion Day. The official congratulated the province on its achievements, which position it as a national benchmark. Nevertheless, he stressed the necessity of sustained discipline and consistency to fulfil obligations constituting a genuine tribute to the generation that stormed the dawn of 26th July 1953.

Monteagudo Ruiz urged the eradication of criminal activities, corruption, and illegal practices through heightened revolutionary watchfulness.

Julio Gómez Casanova, Provincial First Secretary of the PCC, noted that the territory committed to planting 1,000 hectares one year prior. With 38 days remaining until the significant date, he affirmed the current pledge to cultivate 11 080 hectares: «We are better positioned and convinced of our capacity to achieve this.»

The Central Committee Secretariat member was accompanied on his provincial tour by a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, led by Minister Ydael Pérez Brito.
