Details announced for professional boxing bout in Varadero

There will be five men’s fights, with La Cruz challenged to 12 rounds. One in the women’s division, with local Yakelín Stornell making her debut at that level.

The completion of the men’s pairing, the definition of the number of rounds for men and the inclusion of a women’s fight were the latest news regarding the professional boxing bout scheduled for April 11 in Varadero.

The communication received by the Cuban Boxing Federation specifies that the two-time Olympic champion Julio César La Cruz will fight in 12 rounds against Dilan Prasovic from Montenegro in the awaited evening scheduled for the Hotel Meliá Internacional with the support of the promoter AGON Sports.

The other fights in the men’s division will be 10 rounds, with the island also represented by the double Olympic champion Arlen Lopez, the current title holder at that level Erislandy Alvarez and the three times gold medallist and bronze medallist under the five rings Lazaro Alvarez.

Two visitors will be in the other men’s event, and in the women’s event, host Central Caribbean bronze medallist Yakelín Stornell will take the floor for the first time as the Dominican Republic’s Lina Tejeda’s opponent.
