From 28 to 31 January, 6th International Conference For a Balance in the World

Some 900 delegates from 93 countries will attend the 6th International Conference For the Balance of the World, «With All and for the Good of All», dedicated to dialogue between civilisations and the culture of peace. The event will take place from 28-31 January at the Palacio de las Convenciones in Havana, it was announced at a press conference.

This forum of plural and multidisciplinary thought, which seeks to sow ideas and awareness about solutions to international conflicts, will include debates, keynote speeches, symposia and forums.

Highlights in the programme include the space planned for the Brazilian intellectual Frei Betto on The struggle for justice and peace for the balance of the world; the Open Science Symposium for Equity, the 21st International Meeting of the Cátedra Martiana, the Forum for Peace and Democracy, the Congress of Poets for Peace in Defence of Life on Earth, the Colloquium of Historians and a panel dedicated to Puerto Rico.

In this regard, Eduardo Torres Cuevas, historian and president of the Organising Committee, said that this is a necessary event, which has matured since its creation in 2003, and which addresses the unifying thought of Martí, a visionary of collective peace and the problems of the contemporary world.

The event, which is held every two years, now coincides with the 130th anniversary of the fall in combat of our National Hero.

It will take place at a time when humanity is moving towards new forms of organisation of the world system, in the context of a civilisational transition that transcends the legacy of colonialism, hegemonism and unipolarity, to make multilateralism and the sustainability of human development its fundamental objective.
