Like an army armed with musical instruments, artistic elements, and sports gear, the Summer Guerrilla arrived early in the morning at La Palma community on the outskirts of Morón city.
«We took this place by surprise, where families watched in admiration as buses arrived early with artists, sports instructors, and the unexpected visit of government leaders headed by Celia María López Reyes, President of the Municipal Assembly,» stated Rolando Valle de Posada, Deputy Mayor of the territory.
Within minutes, the summer festivities began in La Palma – a newly established community, still small in population. Children participated in skill-building activities and competitions, while families enjoyed rhythms by Grupo Fénix. The children’s group Juglaritos de Ensueños (Little Dream Jugglers), directed by Elizabeth Figueredo Orasma, also performed.
Beyond the artistic, cultural, and sports activities, an agricultural produce stall was set up by the local Collection Centre (Acopio).
«We didn’t expect such welcoming options, which have filled our community with joy after a week of work across various fronts. We hope they return – summer’s still here!» expressed a resident as the cultural guerrilla departed back to the city near midday.
