Acting President Delcy Rodríguez reaffirmed the ideals of Simón Bolívar to consolidate the social and economic peace of Venezuela.
Commemorating this Sunday the 207th anniversary of the «memorable speech» of the founding father of the Americas, on 15th February 1819, the president pointed out that the Liberator Father installed the Congress of Angostura, cementing the pillars of freedom and social equality for the people.
«The most perfect system of government is that which produces the greatest possible sum of happiness, the greatest sum of social security and the greatest sum of political stability,» she noted, quoting the independence leader.
She expressed that guided by Bolívar in Angostura, «today we reaffirm his ideals to consolidate the social and economic peace of the Republic; bringing happiness and forging the future of prosperity for all Venezuelans.»
The ruler stated in the audiovisual accompanying the message that the speech of the illustrious patriot in Angostura «is truly extraordinary and is more relevant than ever.»
She affirmed that he left a legacy to humanity that «we must make known» in the social security model of how its first expression was founded on this continent and in the world.
Rodríguez highlighted that it has its deep roots in Angostura and in «our Liberator Father.»
«How could we not give relevance to the Congress of Angostura and the course it set for happiness for the people of equality, social security, political stability and peace,» she inquired.
The acting dignitary emphasised that this is the heritage and historical legacy that «we have obtained from our liberator fathers.»
Likewise, the Venezuelan Minister for Defence, General-in-Chief Vladimir Padrino, alluded to the historic date and highlighted that under the leadership of Delcy Rodríguez the «homeland demands, more than ever, NATIONAL UNITY.»
He pointed out that, faced with this new stage of struggle, «we remember Bolívar in his Angostura Speech 207 years ago: ‘Virtuous men are those who form republics’,» he concluded.
The high military command praised the head of state’s promotion of unprecedented social and political processes, as well as «dynamics of reconciliation necessary for the social and republican fabric, including the Amnesty Law, to guarantee social justice and the safeguarding of our historic independence.»
