The Brooklyn, New York-based Center for Cuban Studies called on President Joe Biden to remove Cuba from the State Department’s list of state sponsors of terrorism.
President Biden can, with the stroke of a pen, remove Cuba from the State Department’s list of State Sponsors of Terrorism and should do so, the organisation stated in a communiqué published by the Foreign Ministry in X.
It added that this unilateral policy was part of Trump’s ignorant attempt to prove that his hundreds of executive orders against Cuba were justified.
Anyone who knows anything about Cuba knows that Cuba does not belong on this list, it said.
The Centre pointed out that putting Cuba on the list is causing immeasurable harm to ordinary Cubans that must stop.
More than five decades old, the Center is a non-profit institution dedicated to preserving, developing and disseminating Cuban culture and contributing to the normalisation of relations between the United States and Cuba.
