The celebration of the 62 years of foundation occupies these days the Ciego de Ávila branch of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).

At its headquarters on Libertad st, various activities are carried out that allow to show off the artistic and literary talent of the province, which constitutes the membership of said organization.

The festive day also commemorates the 104th anniversary of Benny Moré, qualified as the Bárbaro del Ritmo, bastion of Cuban popular music.

The five affiliates of the UNEAC of the Avilanian territory group more than 130 creators of the different manifestations of art and letters, who have an active participation in the cultural life of the province.
