Unbeaten in the III Elite League of Cuban Baseball

The two sides with a pair of successive successes conceded

The III Elite League of Cuban Baseball was left undefeated today, after the results of the third day of competition.

At the Estadio Capitán San Luis, Vegueros de Pinar del Río beat Industriales. They defeated Industriales 5×3 with a decisive three-run run in the eighth inning, when the game was tied 2×2.

In that episode, mentor Alexander Urquiola’s team hit three hits, including doubles by Yasniel González and Frank Raúl González. The first marked the transitional 3×2 lead and the second towed the two key scores.

The win was won by the incombustible reliever José Ángel García and Rafael Perdomo lost.

Visiting the Mártires de Barbados Park, the Santiago de Cuba team got in Granma’s way by coming out on top 10×6, supported by their offensive strength. Starter Eduardo García hit his third home run of the young season -leading the way- and Euclides Pérez his first. Both towed in three runs each.

Victory for Jaime Pelegrín and setback for Henry Moyet.

In the other duel of the day, Ciego de Ávila defeated Las Tunas 6×4, led by their espirituano reinforcements.

The experienced Frederich Cepeda went 4-3, with a home run and pushed in four of the Tigres’ six runs, while the pitching duo of starter Ariel Zerquera – the eventual winner – and closer Yankiel Mauris, who earned the save, worked well on the mound.
